Apostolic Services

  1. Faith formation of Catholic Families
Sisters with enthusiasm and with zeal continued to fulfill the apostolic services. Faith formation of Catholic families through visiting the families instructing them praying and reciting the rosary with them, reading the Word of God and explaining to them. Conducting S.C.C meeting and teaching them to pray and to believe in God’s power and strength and thus deepening their faith. Sisters also took interest towards the non-Christian brethren by reaching out to them through education, medical care and literacy programme thus instilling in them moral values and the knowledge of God.

  2. Education

    • In 2003 it was named as “Children’s Play Home” with well-equipped playthings and classroom.

    • From 1994 the young girls of our village were occupied by Sr. Simonetta to whom she taught tailoring and embroidery. In the year 1999 we started a residential Grihini Tailoring Programme for the rural young girls.

    • In the year 2002 the Diocese requested the sisters to render service in the newly opened parish school of Kampli. Two sisters teach in the parish school.

  3. Health care Facilities
In the year 1994 sisters started a dispensary as there were no health care facilities in this area. Sisters treat every person with respect, anyone who approached them with their ailment or with other medical problems.

  4. Empowerment of Women
In the year 2003 the sisters of Sahaya Matha Ashram Kampli gathered the women from surrounding areas who were poor, illiterate, oppressed by the husbands (full time work at home or doing coolie work). We organized such women into SHGs to help them to live with self-respect and mutual acceptance and taught them the skills of saving their earnings. Four self-help groups thus came into existence, for the promotion of women. Over the eight years many women came forward to join the self-help groups. At present there are fourteen Self-help groups of about 200 women. They are instructed on the functioning of the S.H.G., their rights and duties towards the group.

  5. Children’s Home
A boarding for school going girls was opened in 2010. Local girls were taken for the first year to improve their education. Later on girls from other areas too were taken. Sisters supervise their studies and give them tuition, teach them discipline, hygiene and instill in them good values.

A priest is appointed as the Chaplain and Director and is over all in-charge of the whole institution.
